Mumbai Indians won the Toss and Elected to Bat First. Mumbai Indian Openers were off to an aggressive start with Prathyay and Ankit taking the attacking to KKR bowlers. Prathyay in particular was in muderous mood clubing 3 sixes of KKR opening bowlers. Sitting Pretty at 45 for no loss in 3.3 hours, Mumbai Indians lost Prathyay to a dubious decesion when he attempted to swing a waist high full toss which was edged to keeper. Soon after Samir induced a run out with a direct hit from boundary. Mumbai Indians kept loosing wickets at regular intervals but were still threatening to post a high total with score reading 108 in 10 overs with Ankit Harsora going strong. Ankit got out top edging Abhimanyu for a well made 37 after which the tail folded to feiry spell of fast bowling by Tarun S and Samir. Mumbai Team not happy with few caught behind decesions that did not go their way but a good bowling effort by KKR bowlers to pull Mumbai back and restrict them to a 122.
KKR opened with aggressive opening pair of Abhimanyu Rajp and Dushyant and their attacking batting display got KKR of to a fast start. KKR were 50 for 1 at the end of 5 overs .KKR were cruising at 60 for 1 but experienced a middle order collapse and were soon 75 for 4 in 8 overs but Dushyant kept hitting boundaries at will to keep KKR in the game before getting out in the 9th over. Tarun brought all his experience into play and kept the scoreboard ticking but Mumbai pulled things back with some tight bowling. KKR needed 18 off last 2 overs and 12 off the last over with Tarun still at the crease in company of debutant Sajan G. 11 were needed of 5 balls when Rana bowled a noball (a full toss) which Tarun dispatched for a six. From 11 of 5 , equation changed to 4 of 5. Tarun then got out trying to go for the winning runs but Sajan and Faiyaz kept their cool to win it for KKR.
KKR stays alive in the tournament with this crucial win in a nailbiter which any team could have won.
