Put in to bat first, Lahore got off to a very slow start with wickets falling continuously thanks to CSK's precision pace bowling attack, that is until master blaster Rashid Ramzan came in at the very end and smashed CSK bowlers out of the park to reach a half century in just 19 balls. CSK also got off to a slow start thanks to a phenomenal bowling spell by captain Saadiq, who conceded just 7 runs in 3 overs, and the Lahore strategy of having all the opening bowlers finish their entire spell at the start. CSK needed around 42 runs in the last 4 overs and the run rate started to build. Enter Saptesh Sawant who smashed 34 in just 17 balls to lead CSK to victory with 1.4 overs to spare. This included 4 sixes in a row from Rashid's only over. Saptesh was elected man of the match for his bowling and match-saving batting performance.
