CSK won the toss and elected to bat first. KKR bowlers Rutvik and Sunil started the proceedings and kept it tight for KKR. Runs were hard to come by in first 5 overs with both bowlers keeping it tight and CSK loosing some early wickets Bhumik and Vaibhav got a very good partnership going for CSK which ensured CSK went on to put up a good score of 128 in 15 overs. Vaibhav in particular played some very good shots. Tarun Sandhu was the pick of bowlers of KKR taking 3 crucial CSK wickets.

Kamalpreet and Pranay opened batting for KKR and put the attack on CSK bowlers. 50 was up in 5 overs and KKR raced to 109 in first 10 overs with Kamalpreet going on to score an attacking 56 and Pranay compiling a solid knock of 35. With KKR's experienced batting it was always going to be tough for CSK to defend 128 and the winning runs were scored off a six by Venkata Anurag in the 13th over and KKR won the game by 6 wickets.
