Cardinal Knights vs Cromwell Champs match report
Feb 07, 2015 08:19 PM | Cardinal Knights won by 6 wickets | ScorecardCromwell Champs won the toss and elected to bat first against Cardinal Knights. The top order batsmen started cautiously allowing the Knights bowlers to get into their rhythm as only 16 runs were scored in the 4 overs of powerplay. The wicket of Gaganjot Singh in the 6th over really set them back, but the partnership between Parmeet Singh (37 from 26) and Ankith Nagarle (14 from 11) added some stability to the Champs batting. Once this partnership was broken, the Champs lost 6 wickets in the last 5 overs largely due to some tight bowling by Kaushal Joshi (1 for 20), Ankit Harsora (2 for 14), and Vaibhav Oberoi (2 for 15). The innings ended at 104/9 in 15 overs.
The Knights started positively and built their innings around Vinith Reddy (45 from 25), who looked in great form and put the Champs bowlers away with ease. He was well supported by Ayush Goyal (17 from 12) and Dinesh Kumar (12 from 11). By the time this trio departed, the Knights needed only 9 runs from 5 overs. In what turned out to be the last over of the game, the girls from both the sides - Nikita Shinde and Audrey Moore, faced each other and made their debuts with the bat and ball respectively. Sneh Kishan (1 for 18) was the only bowler who was able to pick up a wicket. The Knights finished their innings at 106/4 from 10.5 overs, winning the game comfortably with 6 wickets in hand.
Vinith Reddy was awarded the Man of the Match.
