KXIP won the toss and elected to bat in a nail biter between KXIP and MI. There was nothing to seperate the two teams in a match that went to the very last ball. MI lost two early wickets to Sunil but Vaibhav on the other side kept the runs on the flow. Vaibhav scored 41 in 24 balls hitting boundaries regularly until he was caught at the boundary by Dinesh to the bowling of Jaskaran. There was a little dip in the run rate and MI reached 100 in the 11th over. It was then that Rana alongside Pankaj scored 58 runs in the last 4 overs helping MI reach a competitive total of 160 runs. Sunil was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/16 in his 3 overs.

KXIP lost their master batsman Gaganjot in the very 1st over. This kept their runrate below ten in the first four powerplay overs reaching a total of 36. With over 11 rpo required Jaskaran took the responsibilty in his hands and started smashing all over the ground. His partner Bhumik gave him good support playing a cautious innings and keeping his wicket intact. The match started to slip out the hands of MI with the patnership growing strong and taking KXIP to a score of 103 runs in 10 overs. After scoring a fast 52 off just 25 balls, Jaskaran got out finally to good ball by Anuj. KXIP needed 51 runs in the last fours overs and the match started to grip more tension with both sides having an equal chance to win. Bhumik kept his nerve and made sure the run rate stays under 15 rpo with the help of Sohil who chipped in with a couple of boundaries. Sensible batting by the duo and a lot of misfileds and drop catches took the match to an exciting end.

KXIP needed 12 runs to win in the last 5 balls when Bhumik hit a six off a no ball from Rana and almost sealed the fate of the match. Couple of good balls from Rana and a run out kept the match alive till the very last ball and 1 run needed. Bhumik scored the winning run of the match taking his score to 56 runs. Man of the match was given to Jaskaran for scoring a fast 50 and taking a crucial wicket.
