Feb 08, 2014 05:05 AM | Lahore Badshahs won by 18 runs | ScorecardLahore Won the Toss and decided to bat first.A good opening spell of fast bowling by CSK restricted Lahore to 37/4 in first 4 overs.Fahad and Rashid then got a good partnership going before Nimit struck in quick succession to remove them both and Lahore were struggling with score 90/7 in 10 overs. 3 quick wickets and Lahore could have been bowled out for below par total but Mohammed Sadiq took the attack to CSK bowlers and scored an attacking 38 of 24 Balls to propel Lahore to 137 in 15 overs.
With Lahore's talented bowling attack , 137 was always going to be a difficult score to chase and CSK batsmen had no clue to Lahore pace bowling. The runs were coming at a premium and with wickets falling at regular intervals as well , CSK were bowled out of the game. with scorecard at 54 for 4 in 10 overs, CSK needed 83 of last 5 overs with not many batsmen left and Lahore soon registered a comfortable win with Rohan Basu scoring a solid 25* of 18 balls.
Mohammed Sadiq was adjudged man of the match for his solid all round performance.
