Cardinal Knights registered their second win of Spring 2016 after defeating Viterbi Vultures by 12 Runs.
Cardinal Knights won the toss and elected to bat first. Vikas Rajgopal and Rudraksh Mehra opened the innings for Cardinal Knights, giving them a steady start before losing Rudraksh Mehra and Tejas Bhedi in back to back deliveries from Aditya Joshi. From there, Vikas Rajgopal and Sohan Shetty maintained a good partnership, scoring 33 runs in 27 balls. Tight overs from Sneh Kishen and Ankit Sultania didn’t allow Cardinal Knights to score freely. Luckily for the Knights, a quick fire 18 from 9 deliveries by Vaibhav Oberoi and 8 from 3 deliveries by Chethan Vekatesh helped Cardinal Knights to score 40 more runs in last 4 overs and ended the innings with 120 from 16 Overs.
Aditya Joshi was the pick of the bowlers for Viterbi Vultures, ending with figures 3-0-17-3.
Chasing a target of 121, Viterbi Vultures got off to a good start after scoring 32 in 4 overs. Tejas Bhedi provided the first breakthrough for Cardinal Knights when Maunil Choski was caught on long on by Prateek Rohela in pursuit of quick runs. A great spell by Prateek Rohela put Cardinal Knights in perfect position to win the match. He took 4 wickets of his 3 overs and conceded only 12 runs. Cardinal Knights then bowled out Viterbi Vultures for 108 and won by 12 runs.
Prateek Rohela was the pick of the bowlers for Cardinal Knights taking 3 wickets and was well supported by other bowlers.
