Trojan Tigers won by 30 runs against Viterbi Vultures in the 2nd round of the Cromwell Premiere League.
Batting first, the Tigers were on the backfoot loosing 3 quick wickets for 38 runs in first 5 overs. Bhumik Patel and Gaurav Mathur then consolidated the innings with a 60+ run partnership in next 5 overs. Though the Tigers lost the wicket of Bhumik Patel (43 off 27 balls), the Tigers continued to play attacking cricket and ended up with a good score of 160.
Chasing 161, the Vultures too got to a poor start loosing two wickets in the powerplay. The bowling figures of the Trojan bowlers were destroyed by Mike Windes, who scored quick-fire 32 runs off just 13 deliveries and was well supported by Gautham (15 off 14 balls). However, that wasn't enough for the Vultures who ended up scoring 130 in 15 overs. Sagar Aggarwal and Bharadwaj Jayaram took 2 wickets each for the Tigers.
Gaurav Mathur was declared Man of the Match for his 67 runs in 30 balls which included 7 fours and 4 sixes.
