Popovich Panthers continued their winning spree with yet another comfortable win against the Leavey Lions. On a damp evening, Gaurav Mathur warmed up the atmosphere by once again proving why he is one of the most feared batsmen in Cromwell premier league with a majestic 114 of just 48 balls. Popovich Panthers were sent to bat in after Leavey Lions won the toss.In the absence of Tarun Sandhu, Sushil Premjani took over the captaincy for panthers.Gaurav,along with Ravindra Jain provided a solid start of over 50 runs. Leavey came back with couple of wickets, but on the other end Gaurav Mathur kept the flurry of runs going before finally getting out to Preetam Shingavi. Ashish Relan provided good support with a quickfire 17 to tick the score past the 200 mark.In reply to this mammoth total,Leavey Lions started off with a steady start from Preetam Shingavi an Sanmukh before losing quick wickets. Guest Player Ankit Agrawal kept the hopes alive with some ferocious hits and ended up with 77 runs,but in the end the score was too much for the depleted Leavey side to chase. Popovich grabbed the match by 46 runs to ensure their top 4 position.
