Trojan Tigers vs Cardinal Knights match reportNov 22, 2014 10:28 PM | Cardinal Knights won by 65 runs | Scorecard
In the fourth match of the season, Trojan Tigers (Dinesh Kumar) took on Cardinal Knights (Gaurav Nilakantan). TT won the toss and put CK in to bat. CK got off to an explosive start with Akshay Satish, last year's MVP and playing in only his second season, blasting boundary after boundary. While wickets kept falling at the other end to low scores, master blaster Akshay kept dispatching the balls with aplomb over the boundary time after time, in fact most of the time it was out... of the stadium. In what was the most scintillating display of batting aggression and finesse, Akshay posted a total of 143 in just 50 balls, perhaps the highest individual score in Cromwell history!! He reached his 100 in just 33 balls (and just 8 dot balls). In his trademark ishtyle, Akshay also reverse-pulled a six that went over the roof of the building adjacent to the field. CK eventually reached a total of 201 at the end of the innings.
Coming in to bat next, TT was always facing an uphill challenge with the precision attack of CK's opening bowlers Sunil Iyer and Ishaan Bahl. A few brave innings by Deepak (37 in 24 balls), captain Dinesh Kumar (26 in 17 balls) and Bhardwaj (24 in 17 balls) helped TT reach a total of 136 at the end of the innings, but it wasn't enough.
For his explosive batting, and subsequent performance with the ball, Akshay Satish was declared man of the match.
